If you find pleasure in moving your body and value or aspire to value, the importance of sensing what you feel as much as what you think, then this class is for you.
No prior dance experience is required—just an open mind and a willingness to embrace something new within the comfort of your own space. Feel free to stay completely off camera for the entire class.
You'll engage in various movements, occasionally incorporating writing, drawing and simple props like paper, a chair or scarf and all set to a diverse musical backdrop. I will be your adventurous guide as you forage for new sensations as well as work with your imagination to help you listen and engage with the vital messages of your emotions. Through playful exercises that will elicit laughter and tears, revelations and questions, you'll simultaneously enhance your physical and emotional strength, flexibility, and coordination.
When you welcome your emotions as an integral part of your intelligence you can anchor yourself in reality and reestablish a genuine connection with your true messy, grumpy, melancholy, nervous, hopeful, awkward, shy, goofy, depressed, etc. self and in turn understand what you really need. In doing so, you gain the ability to interact with others fluidly and authenticly.
